Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal’ literally means ‘The Palace of Winds’. It is named this way because it functioned like it. It has 953 windows. It was built by the King “Sawai Pratap Singh”. The credit of the design goes to Lal Chand Utsav. The rationale in building so many windows were to let the women of the palace watch all the everyday activities and celebrations on the occasions. How thoughtful it is to understand the boredom and keenness of women and take care of them! It has been made using pink and red colored sandstone.

Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is a sundial. The sundial is the device that tells the time of the day of receiving the sunlight. It is made up of stone. It has a gnomon. It is a part of the sundial and it is projected due to which it casts a shadow. Jantar Mantar gives the time to an accuracy of just 2 seconds. There are 5 Jantar Mantar in India. In Jaipur, this is the largest one.

City Palace

City Palace on Jaipur tour package was the biggest excitement for all of us. Albert Hall

Albert Hall is a museum and monument both. It is the oldest museum of the state of Rajasthan. It was designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. King Ram Singh wished it to be a town hall and then his successor Madho Singh made it a museum. It is in Ram Niwas Garden.

Sisodia Rani Garden

This garden was built by the King “Sawai Jai Singh II”. It is a historical place. The trees around it make it lush green. It clearly shows the aesthetic beauty and the royal taste of the ancient rulers of India. It was built in 1728. It has watercourses, fountains, gardens, pavilions, etc. This is a garden with a terrace also. There is a two storey palace on the terrace. The palace is beautiful from the inside. It has murals and galleries depicting the life stories of Lord Krishna. It is named after the Queen over there from the line of Sun Dynasty, the Rajputs. It was dedicated to her. It was made by King “Sawai Jai Singh II”.
